Working in support of over 40 NHS Trust’s, NHS Foundation Trusts, CCGs, CSUs and private hospitals, Amvale Medical Transport Ltd is committed to understanding the patient’s needs and delivering high-value support and care to patients with a wide range of psychiatric illnesses and learning disabilities.

Amvale Medical Transport Ltd provides secure transportation across the UK and abroad for patients and people, supporting Mental Health Trust’s as and when requested. As an example we have assisted with patients from Scotland, London and Truro, as well as having returned patients to France, Croatia and Prague, under all Sections, Court Orders, Bariatric and Mental Health Capacity Act, including Informal Patients.

We also provide secure transport services for Public Sector prisons in England and Wales managed by Her Majesty’s Prison Service (HMPS), which is part of the Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, for people requiring secure transport for medical reasons.

We offer journeys to and from secure and non-secure locations, NHS or private hospitals, courts, police stations, places of residence or community locations and places of safety; we are here to support you.

We are the only private ambulance company with professional staff trained and qualified to RESPECT level, as approved through NAViGO and the BILD Code of Practice.

Our staff focus on a person-centred approach, they are trained to support and not control patients, thus developing a positive relationship to improve the quality of life for all patients and staff.

Safe Restraint

We focus on a person centred approach with a priority on de-escalation and calming techniques.

We believe in the minimum restrictive procedures possible while ensuring the patient, members of the public and property are all kept safe and unharmed.

Our restraints are made from a tough cloth that provides a softer more humane alternative to other intrusive methods of control and restraint. This allows patients to be safely transported and to prevent those who may attempt self harm.

All staff are trained in RESPECT, which is accredited to BILD (British Institute of Learning Disabilities) with safer handling use of soft cuff restraint system as part of our in depth training program.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The safe transfer of all our patients is our top priority, especially during these most difficult and challenging times with Coronavirus.

You can be assured with Amvale that all staff are equipped and trained in full PPE specific to their role and operate to full robust policies and procedures, including in relation to COVID-19 and the Coronavirus.

Amvale also employs the use of their own sanitiser unit that applies a powerful disinfectant throughout potentially contaminated areas in aerosol form, sanitising the air and all exposed surfaces, including floors, ceilings, carpets, corners and crevices. The particles are so small that they can pass into HEPA filters of air-conditioning units.

There are no risks to people, surfaces or electronic equipment, and upon completion of the process, there are no wet patches or traces of residue.
